Calculating Simple Power and Root

Example :

2^{2 =} 2 x 2 = 4

We can mention 2² as “two to the seconds power” or “two square”

In general, a square numbers an be written in the form of repeated multiplication as follows.

a² = a x a

(a square equals a multiply by a) 

The square root is the inverse of square. It means, if you can calculate a square product of a number then you must be able to find the square root of that number.

Find the value of    1764

Using the prime factorisation

  =      2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 7 x 7

        

   =      2² x 3² x 7²

               

                    =  2 x 3 x 7

               

                =  42
